After Lu received her B.F.A at the School of Visual Arts in 2005, she landed a couple of jobs in the fields of art dealing, web design and illlustration. Her career in advertising was kick started in 2008 when she had the opportunity to join Adasia Communications, Inc., a multicultural advertising agency in NYC, as an Art Director. She spent the next 3 years art directing and creating ad campaigns for clients such as Verizon, Subaru and PNC Bank. She continues freelancing.
